Trump, Betrays Our Troops

Reports indicate that US intelligence agencies told President Trump in March that Russia was paying bounties to Taliban fighters to kill coalition troops, including U.S. troops. Trump has yet to respond and instead has advocated for Russia's return to the G8.

Clearly, no one cares that Trump was told months ago, that Russia was offering the Taliban a bounty for killing our troops, but ignored that information, and continued to lobby for Russia's readmittance to the G8.

I didn't have any strong opinion about this thread, because after all Trump isn't responsible for Putin's nefarious deeds. And it might not be good policy to retaliate right now - when to hit back at a quasi-enemy like Russia is a difficult matter and I don't feel I can second guess our government's reaction.

But the usual suspects here seem to be denying that this whole thing ever happened. Why are they defending Putin?

White House denies Trump was ever briefed on the matter, we'll find out soon enough (damn place leaks like a sieve). Considering this was March when literally all eyes were on Coronavirus, it's entirely possible it wasn't prioritized.

Turns out that these reports came from captured Taliban who would not have any way to know what is alleged. In any event, reports were not confirmed nor was the accuracy vetted. The president would NOT get unvetted intelligence from the intelligence community. It appears you are parroting Trump's own denials on Twitter about this, and at the same time, denying that our intelligence agencies would actually vet the information before putting it in the Daily Brief.

Not ad hominem given the source and even the reputation her own lawyer projects, calling her statements "rhetorical hyperbole".
"The Court finds a reasonable viewer would not take the statement (claiming OAN is 'paid Russian propaganda') as factual given this context."
Judge Cynthia Bashant dismissed OAN's lawsuit against Maddow with those words, essentially calling Maddow a liar, albeit defending her perniciousness.

But note that the NYT is not the only source, and even Kayleigh McEnany doesn't deny the underlying story - that Russia paid to have American soldiers killed.
