Yes, I do. I felt third-degree murder was a little too vague for what we know about the killing, because it is captured on video in its entirety. Second-degree murder has intent as one of its elements; it is clear from the video that Chauvin kept his knee pressed down on Floyd's neck, for several minutes after Floyd stopped moving and breathing, and even after another cop suggested turning Floyd on his side. Even after another cop checked Floyd's pulse and found none, Chauvin didn't budge. I think a good prosecutor can argue that Chauvin intentionally applied lethal force with depraved indifference to Floyd's life.As for the other cops, they are willing accomplices in Floyd's death, each of them had an opportunity to stop the crime but didn't, and two of them actively took part in it, even after it became clear that Floyd was in grave condition. All four cops ignored not only Floyd's pleas for his life, but those of bystanders. The charges for all are appropriate in scope and severity. |

Chauvin should get a fair trial. Thats the way we do business in this country. Innocent until found/proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt by a jury of your peers as I recall. If James Earl Ray, O.J. Simpson, Charlie Manson etc.got fair trials, no reason to doubt that a fair trial will he had here... or there, depending on the venue..All this, assuming he gets by his check up from the neck up (AKA Psych. evaluation) to see if he's mentally fit to stand trial in the first place. |

Why didn't the EMT attempt resuscitation ? Does EMT answer to the cops ? Seems to me there is a case for 1st degree, which is life in prison in Minnesota. I think he should get the death penalty. |

The psychological profile of a cop does not respond well to being told what to do.LMAO! The police are a para-military organization with a chain of command. Unless you are the chief or PC, you have a boss to answer to and a whole encyclopedia of rules and regulations to follow. And even the chief or PC has to answer to a mayor. |
