Furthermore, the most restrictive governors, both D's and R's, all have approval ratings in the 70's and 80's. Trump is in the 40's. |

Less paper trail means less opponents can hang her with, but you also have a greater risk that under the heightened pressure/vetting that the candidate crumbles. |

I would argue that being an Attorney General or DA requires a lot of executive experience. A lot of the female Democrats who have served as Governor are white. Grisham is an exception, but she wasn’t as long in the House of Representatives before being Governor. It is not just tenure that matters, it is what they have done. Bernie Sanders had a long tenure in the Senate but I definitely did not want him. Little actual policy accomplishments and what he has advocated for I strongly disagree with. |

Speaking purely politically, the problem with Harris is that many black voters object to some of her actions as a prosecutor. So she's not a good candidate for getting out the black vote. Without getting into too much detail, that does appear likely to be something Trump would say. I have a friend who Trump was looking to hire at one of his clubs and it got to the point that my friend actually met Trump and other executives. They slip my friend a piece of paper saying that this would be his salary. Needless to say it was well below what someone with my friend's experience would expect for this sort of job. My friend was polite and didn't make a scene. Trump could see that my friend wanted a higher salary and basically said take it or leave it that is what he will pay to offer my friend the privilege of working for the Trump Organization. |
