AOC Turns on Fellow Liberal Cuomo

Intimates that Cuomo is classist and racist for calling for a suspension of mortgages but not calling for a suspension of rents. Liberal cannibalism.

Democrats were never in thrall to Robert Byrd. Romney agrees with practically the entire platform of the Republican Party, except for not being in thrall to Trump, and that's all that makes him a RINO. The only litmus test to be a true "Republican" is apparently loyalty to Trump.

In a fair and just system, I kind of agree. If you are going to suspend mortgages, do it for all and suspend the rents.

most of these conversations focus on if it's proper to do so. But when they do so, like an illegal alien coming across the border and getting raped as payment for the border crossing, justice is justice.

I don't agree. They're not suspending the mortgage payments, only delaying them. The mortgagor still has to make those payments, just at the end of the term, so for each month of non-payment, the term is extended by one month (at no interest).

If rent is delayed for a month, then does the tenant pay that at the end of the tenancy? Do they thus owe X months of rent arrears that they have to pay back before vacating? It's not the same.

If they want to order all landlords to suspend late fees for rent, but still expect the arrears to be paid off eventually, then I'm fine with that.

If the rent is delayed for a month, the landlord could just whack the security. Besides, not only does it take forever to evict a tenant (in NYC anyway) If this drags on, Cuomo suspended all evictions for the duration without a court order. AFAIK Landlord/tenants courts are on hiatus until further notice. AOC should do some research before she shoots her mouth off.
