Fredo's Brother

Posted by Train Dude on Sat Mar 28 14:45:14 2020

Let me preface my remarks by saying that I have probably disliked the man even while I thought that his father was a good governor. As a governor, I thought that Jr. Cuomo has been a failure. That said. I have been listening to his daily briefings as much as I have listened to those of the President. Both are saying essentially the same things from different viewpoints, however, I think the governor has used this opportunity to shine. He's done what I consider an outstanding job of communicating, of leadership and of bipartisanship. I don't know how well this in playing outside of NY State but the democrats might be wise to consider him a last minute replacement for Joe Biden at this point. Granted, Biden has been shoved off the stage by this pandemic but he was never a shining star, anyway. By contrast, based on the spotlight of his handling of this crisis I think Andrew Cuomo could give Donald Trump a run for his money in the national election. Just my opinion.

I don’t think so. Andrew Cuomo would have lost to Trump in a landslide before this because his ego won’t tolerate others getting credit nor would his gun agenda sell anywhere outside of Democrat strongholds. We are electing a President not a FEMA Director.

I don't know much about him other than his handling of the subway, which I oppose, and his leadership during this crisis, which I admire.

Is it really possible to have him be drafted at the convention? Maybe that is how we should select Party candidates. These drawn out campaigns have us with choices like we have now.

Let's remember that Barack obama was selected based on his key note speech 4 years earlier. Before that he was a total unknown on the national stage. I am not saying that Andrew Cuomo would make a good president but this crisis has afforded him the opportunity to shine on the national stage. He hasn't squandered the opportunity.

He's been transparent and visible. I suspect that he would be acting differently were he actually in the race. Biden has been invisible, only coming out irregularly to disparage the current administration. I don't see how anyone can see him as presidential and his poor contrast with Cuomo and even Trump is striking.

If Cuomo ran *and* didn't do anything stupid like Put Beto in charge of gun policy but instead dodged questions on it, he'd probably be fine.

Is it alien to your nature not to use a derogatory slur to somebody with whom you disagree, even when paying that person a compliment?

For the record, I was not the one who came up with the Fredo nickname for Chris Cuomo. I disagree with you most times and have not yet used one for you.

Mario was called a "liberal beacon" by the New York Beobachter Slimes. What exactly were his good points? (Remember, if Chris is "Fredo", then Andrew has to be Michael and Mario has to be Don Vito.)

Mario was, as I recall, thought of to be very intellectual. Possibly a candidate for the supreme court, though bill clinton passed on him.

Has to be that way since Chris is already Fredo and Andrew's running things over in NY. The descent is reversed, of course; while the sister in The Godfather is the youngest, the sister in the Cuomos is the eldest and probably has the most honest job of them all, being a radiologist (although she's on the Huffington Post's "medical review board").

Thanks for the fireside chat.
It was very illuminating.

Furthermore,it definitely takes into account how simple minded people can be just because they don't want to accept the fact that in spite of Everything, they are Stupid fact deficient moronic buffoons, who are even willing to "Sacarfice" their lives for a moron of epic proportions!

Cuomo has only one problem in all of this.

Every one of his orders came down a WEEK late. if he did everything he does now, exactly, but did it all one week earlier. It would not have been so bad.

And I'm hearing, in some places they're not finding some of that sanitizer that he promised during his creepy pressor.

For years I've heard it doesn't matter how coherant a President is, the deep state (his handlers) are the ones that do everything. Hence the hatred of Trump.

From Florida:
“Quite honestly, if we don’t do anything, we’ll be like New York,” said Szapocznik, who believes a statewide stay-at-home order is necessary.

The new benchmark.
