"Caucasian" is a misnomer created by one 19th century idiot so-called scientist. |

Even in 1950, UNESCO could publish a paper on race ("The Race Question" [PDF]) accepting these as present divisions in mankind (p6, section 7). Equally unfortunately, C7EN's understanding of anthropology is stuck in the 1950s. |

Sorry I hadn't caught up with this one earlier ... one thing I was hoping to find somewhere was an animated set of face shots to provide one of the really neat things about over here ... when BI-gotz are pressed to describe exactly what an Uhmerican LOOKS like, they tend to choose their own. But the BEST part is take a snapshot of every ethnic face across the entire planet, and there's an Uhmerican looks JUST LIKE them. :)For the assholes we have representing us currently, I've always taken heart growing up in NYC that at least NEW YORK is "the world" and everyone in it ... and what does an AMERICAN look like? EVERYBODY! I find that a rather pleasant thought ... aside from our moron leader. |

The other day I was walking in town when I chanced upon a man who I knew was African-American by most of his features but he was lighter than me. I looked at him pointed to my skin and said "darker than you". He and I both laughed because we knew exactly what this was about. Hell, he was pale compared to me. He had to have some white blood in his past, and I know that in Sicily where my ancestors came from they had Spaniards, Greeks, Carthaginians, Moroccans, Tunisians, and I'm sure a few Africans there at one time in their history. Who'se to say that way back I don't have some black blood in me? You never know. |
