Not so fast there, 37.Got called for an EDP in the old Albee Square Mall on Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Young female cop on a foot post outside sees us pull up, comes inside with us. EDP is wilding out in the food court, throwing garbage cans and flipping tables. Cop grabs the EDP, swings him around into the wall, and voilá! EDP is suddenly meek as a churchmouse. We took him to Cumberland then... There are plenty of female cops out there who will slap you right back into factory reset mode... |

That wasn't my experience when I was on the bus. All the female cops I knew in those days were perfectly capable of jumping into a fight and winning over hardened criminals.A female detective did one of the best takedowns I ever saw. She ran a bad guy down (and the suspect was a major player, on a par with old Nicky Barnes), caught him at the end of the block, and threw him right over the hood of an SUV. The guy never knew what hit him. We were sitting 89 right on the corner, and watched the whole thing. |

I respectfully disagree with the above. The only time she really engaged was when her partner and the perp were on the ground. Before that, she just touched the perp 3 times, even when it was clear that he was resisiting. However, she did get in the zone at the end, and I've seen a lot worse, including males |

I have a harsher name for you. It would cause all kinds of problems.I said not much help. She wasn't much help. She is very reluctant and ineffective. The suspect ignores her and he's right. His real confrontation is one-on-one with that cop until real backup arrives. |
