Not bad news. If the market fell now, it would have a chance to recover by next November and if it didn’t it would be bad.

That would be bad news. When markets achieve a showy goal, it seems to sober investors up and there's a significant drop.

I'll survive. I just won't be as well off in retirement as if the market were growing a bit more slowly.

Obviously, for people cashing out now, this is very good news. I am happy for them.

Slow and steady would be better. 30k is just a number. Maintaining the support for current levels and slow steady growth is more important.

The markets went up under Clinton because of an artificial bubble and under Obama because they couldn’t go down further. When the Democrats took back the House the markets dropped. Now that they are singularly focused on impeachment the markets are doing well because they aren’t passing legislation that would adversely impact the markets.

Youre wrongg on so many facts there. Are you a walking GOP lie?

So under your rules...

stocks are up under Trump due to his tax cut which increased dividends, and cut fed rates to hold off an impending ecnomic stall and people are just bullish before the other shoe drops?

Then were stocks up during the bush era due to the housing bubble and companies falsifying numbers?

Were stocks uo during Reagan because of his tax cuts and that led to the crash in 89?

Come on mtk wanna play this game?

What's interesting is right now, the market is high but gold is also at the highest it's been since the last recession.

If the market tanks, I might finally be able to get a profit out of the gold I bought for $1900/oz (I have a habit of doing the exact opposite thing to earning money w/r/t investments...).

I'm hearing some talk of the "phenominal" growth potential in Marijuana stocks with an anticipated 800% return on investmemt by the middle of the next decade. On the surface of it, with states falling like dominoes to legalize recreational along with medical marajuana, it sounds promising with the ever increasing demand.
If I can gather up a few Quid, I might roll the dice & make a buy.

Well, not exactly. The Republicans and the rest of the right wing were very concerned about the debt, since they kept lobbying for a balanced budget. Coincidentally (not), that's about the time Obama was dealing with the Great Recession, when cutting spending would have made the recession worse. Now, according to all those RWers, the economy is going great and unemployment is at historic lows. Where are all those fiscal conservatives now? Oh, yeah, they want to cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid right after passing a huge, unpaid for, tax cut. That's fiscal conservatism for you!

“Return the money to you”

You sure about that?

Because that tax cut gave businesses a permanent tax cut but 7 years from now in 2026 the tax cut for individuals expires and taxes go up! Not to mention that certain deductions were reduced or eliminated resulting in higher taxes for many people.

Your point is a broken condom. Useless.

Your GOP talking points are pathetic.
