My friend in Texas raises some ex cellent questions:Baton Rouge to Dallas is 5.5 hours by car. They don't have weed in Louisiana? Why would someone who just spent a full week in the national spotight, in a super-high-profile case, be selling weed, let alone twelve pounds of weed? It also strains credulity that a drug dealer would publicly go on the stand to testify in a murder trial against a cop, as a witness the defense could have instantly impoeached, had this come to light during the proceedings. Nobody dug this highly damaging information about Brown out before the trial, given that the Dallas cops ransacked Botham Jean's apartment looking for anything they could smear Guyger's victim with? No murder weapon is recovered, and there is no surveillance video.If I was selling as much weed as they say Brown was, why would I draw national attention to myself by taking part in a trial which would bring all kinds of scrutiny upon me? I mean, damn, if I had enough marijuana in my living room to get the whole city high, I'd keep a VERY low profile, wouldn't you? |

I think the whole drug dealer nonsense is a set up to discredit Brown. The DPD has shown itself to be untrustworthy, considering they tried to give Amber every possible break they could during their investigation of the Jean shooting. Think about it. The cops had FIVE warrants to search Guyger's apartment, but they never did. Instead, they toss the victim's place, and make a big noise about finding a small quantity of weed there, as if that somehow justified Guyger's actions. That's very strange for a murder investigation.So forgive me if I'm more than a little skeptical about their motives in this case. |

These dudes allegedly were making a nine-hour round trip car ride for a couple pounds...of weed? But OK, fine. Let’s say they were willing to do that. They get there and the dude is prepared to serve them in the parking lot of his apartment complex. Really? Was it these guys' first time selling and/or buying drugs before? Because what part of the game is that? Who is selling pounds of weed in the fucking parking lot of where they live? For that matter, what dude who is pushing weight is dealing directly out of his own home? Where they do that at? Please tell me so I can rob them because that is exactly why no one pushing weight sells directly out of their own home. Are you crazy? But OK. We are at Brown’s house, he is prepared to sell the weed but gets into an argument instead that turns into a physical altercation, and in the aftermath, he pulls out a gun and shoots one of the three men who are there to purchase from him. Like I said, this story is so out there, I don’t think it was thought all the way through. I don’t believe it, and many others don’t believe it either. It’s also hard to believe that his part-time drug dealer’s career wasn’t revealed during the trial. Theoretically, both the defense and the prosecution have investigators in their offices. Neither side was able to dig up this information on a potential witness? You know what this story does do, however? It assassinates his character. It calls his character and his testimony into question. It sets up Amber Guyger for a retrial, and it creates an impression of Brown in the minds of any future jurors. The idea that he was some inept drug dealer who got himself killed makes it easier to discredit what he had to say on the stand. |

Brown had previously been arrested for drug possession, evading arrest, theft and having an illegal firearm. He was in a state jail from Jan. 4, 2017, to Feb. 17, 2017, for the drug possession conviction. Brown wrote the judge to allow him to serve two different sentences concurrently so he could be released sooner. Last year, Brown was shot at a strip club in North Dallas. A man with him was shot and killed. A family attorney said he wasn't scared to testify about Amber Guyger but instead was worried because people were after him. How is it that I, who is not a journalist, is able to find out this information but you are not? |
