Alabama was never in the official forecasts issued by the National Hurricane Center, something local NWS meteorologists kept pointing out, even in the face of Trump's blatant insistence that he was right and the scientific evidence was wrong.NOAA refuted this in favor of Trump, who almost certainly ordered the agency to back him up. McLean is the acting Chief Scientist at NOAA. By ordering an integrity investigation into Trump's bullshit, he has to know it's career suicide. I applaud him for doing it anyway. |
