KYW news mentioned this

It's ICE-land: Just a Land of Ice All Year Round. It may be called ICELAND, but the climate is rather mild. ... In fact, in some places in Europe and North-America, it's even colder in wintertime than it is in Iceland—even in places situated on similar or lower latitudes.

Chuck: That was always something of a paradox when I was in school. Iceland had no ice (or very little of it) while Greenland had no green. Air Force personnel who were assigned to Thule Air Force Base in Greenland were told "that there was a girl behind every tree". Except that there were no trees for a thousand miles.

Iceland is very volcanic too. Big contributor to its climate.

You're just reminding me of that smart CNN host who was going on about how he couldn't believe that fact that there are volcano's up that way.

Parts of Minnesota is colder than Alaska.

People who believe otherwise try to school me about climate science.

Lots of them in many parts of Alaska too. Never mind Kamchatka in far-eastern Russia. Parts of Antarctica as well. Hawaii's "Big Island" volcanoes also get snow on their summits oftentimes. Lands of fire and ice.
