Democrats react to Philadelphia police Stand-off |
|
Posted by orange blossom special on Thu Aug 15 09:31:08 2019
A reporter at the scene of an attack on police officers said that bystanders were mocking and taunting police even as bullets rained down upon them. Even as six police officers were being treated for injuries the attack by a man barricaded inside a home, the neighborhood residents expressed hostility and antagonism against the police. Reporter Alexandria Hoff of CBS-3 Philadelphia reported that she had been harassed along with the officers There are reports that the suspect was broadcasting part of the attack on Facebook. ***** I still agree that guns, knives, knuckles, etc shouldn't be anywhere near liberals. |

Simple solution to the neighborhood issue - next time there's a shooting (not against cops but against residents), the cops should slow roll their response. Or better yet, just come on in afterwards to pick up the bodies. That'll learn 'em! |

Yeah, they sure are "learning" after stuff like Baltimore under Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. Or on the "white" side, Portland's mayor telling the cops to lay off Antifa. |

Funny, because that's what a lot of protest/riots are. People block a highway punishing completely unrelated people because they're all riled up about something the media overplayed, or smashing store/residential windows / cars that just had the misfortune of being located where they're rioting. |

The protestors are not our employees, and if they commit crimes they are subject to arrest. And with extremely rare exceptions, their obnoxious behavior does not lead to death or injury. If you were to say that the police can refuse to protect the population, but should be charged with murder if someone they ought to be protecting is killed, I would disagree with you but at least you would have made a consistent comparison. But I don't har you saying that. |

The Police have no duty to protect. And sorry but police aren't your employees. They serve and protect at the behest of the government. With their limited resources they are deployed in patterns to keep crime in tax generating areas areas down just enough to prevent the streets from looking like Beirut. They are not funded enough to be proactive, nor is there enough morale for anyone to take that kind of initiative on their own volition. When people throw rocks at those trying to protect you from a mass shooter, when politicians tie their hands, police are going to follow the minimum required per letter of the law and go not one iota further when citizens call for help. |

There's a reason for the phrase "don't bite the hand that feeds".This is kindof what happened in Baltimore after Freddie Grey. There was (justified) rioting, and then almost immediately, Baltimore police stopped noticing crime prompting a massive wave of murders. The simple solution is, well, the 2nd amendment. Protect yourself. No matter how many laws are passed you cannot force one human to give a shit about another human. |

There was (justified) rioting, and then almost immediately, Baltimore police stopped noticing crime prompting a massive wave of murders. Both the rioting and the police response, if true, are totally disgraceful. The only difference is that we are stuck with the rioters since they are Americans, but we shouldn't have that sort of public servant. |

In Baltimore, with the charging of 6 officers in the Freddy Gray matter, the Baltimore PD rank and file realized that the city didn't have their back so they stopped being proactive and started going through the motions. Liberals value the criminal element over those who protect and serve. |

This is kind of what happened in Baltimore after Freddie Grey. There was (justified) riotingInstant fail. The First Amendment indicates no right to riot, and rioting is never justified. In fact, the Constitution allows for the suspension of the writ of habeas corpus to restore "the public safety" in the case of rioting. And no, no such behavior was justified in response to what happened to Freddie Gray. Try learning the facts there. |

I'm still fuzzy on the subject, so i could be wrong, but I saw an insurance claim once where someones car was damaged at a quickie mart when a civil disturbance "erupted" (to use leftist terminology) and damaged the car.Insurance didn't cover. I assume I don't need to make the comment on justice and fairness at AOC/Omar's ANTIFA and ISIS friends. |
