Yes. The Spanish standard is that the “masculine” term is gender-neutral where necessary.

Or are you offended when intergender graduates of a school are called that school’s “alumni?”

Yes, and there are zero Latinx players on the team. If there were Latinx athletes on the team, I would not presume to use a word that assigns them a binary gender, when one or more such members could be gender fluid, nonbinary, agender, or trans. There is an available term that covers them all.

Why not use "alumnus" instead? It's more gender-neutral, although it does skew male.

Alumnus is singular. Alumni is plural. Both are masculine terms. The Latinx language has grammatical gender too.

In case you were wondering: Alumna, singular and Alumnae, plural. In fact, when I typed each of those words, it suggested an emoji of a female dressed in academic dress.

So why are you not agitating for Alumnx?

I prefer to identify people however they want to be identified. The only problem that I have with "Latinx" is that the overwhelming number of Latin people don't want to be called that.

Wouldn't that depend on the revenue that the sport generates? If men's soccer generates 3 times the revenue, why shouldn't the men be paid proportionally more than the women?
