It was a bit overdone, like the 1990s Brady bunch movie. They fell way to much into the characicatures. But that said it was entertaining

Misheard Lyrics (Re: All In The Family)

Posted by Mitch45 on Fri May 24 10:33:40 2019, in response to All In The Family, posted by chicagomotorman on Thu May 23 06:09:09 2019.

Remember how in the original show, Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton had to re-record the opening theme song "Those Were the Days" because people couldn't understand some of the lyrics the way it was sung originally? The later seasons had them more clearly enunciate these lines

"Boy, the way Glenn Miller played",
"And you knew who you were then",
"Mister we could use a man like Hoibert Hoover again"

And the whole last stanza:

"Didn't need no welfare state"
"Everybody pulled his weight"
"Gee, our old La Salle ran great"

As I kid, I could never understand the last line as originally sung. I thought they were talking about something called "GRO La Salle rent rates". When they re-sang it, I finally got it.

And the instrumental end theme song, "Remembering You", was co-written by Carroll O'Connor and actually had lyrics.

Yeah. The intro was great.

The accent and difficult lyrics are on purpose because us middle class New Yorkers are seen that way.

I love trying to "guess the location" during the intro and outro.

I looked it up and the first two seasons are on Crackle, but not this episode (wanted to compare) and The Jeffersons are at least party on Starz, but I don't have that. AiTF is also available at $1.99 an episode on iTunes, but I don't feel like paying $2 for an episode I basically just saw.
