But the point of this thread is that there was a Biblical Israel. That's not fiction, even if certain or many characters in the Bible are fictional. |

I agree that the Bible itself does not provide any useful evidence of the existence of an ancient Israel. But archaeology and corroborating writings prove that the Bible is not entirely a work of fiction, but has some basis in historical fact.But yes, the Bible need not have more basis in historical fact than a Michener novel. |

That's the first time I've heard the "Biblical" adjective described as fantastical.It can be violent, in contexts of revenge. It can describe horror, in context of natural disasters. It can be amorous, when "knowing" someone in that manner. |
