It's changed my life.

But they keep getting rid of my flavors.

If you want soda, hold down the button until it whisles at you. Pushing the button like they used to on QVC/HSN isn't great. And, the Cola actually took me maybe a week to get used to, but now I can't switch back to Coke or Pepsi or RC.

If you want soda, hold down the button until it whisles at you. On mine we do it twice. Pushing the button like they used to on QVC/HSN isn't great nor consistant for fizz. And, the Cola actually took me maybe a week to get used to, but now I can't switch back to Coke or Pepsi or RC.

Isn't using Sodastream a wash because of the need to use all of the proprietary syrup canisters and CO2 canisters?

Although supporting Israeli businesses is always a plus.

Not in the long run. It's still cheaper using Soda Stream. If you trade in an empty CO2 cartridge the new one is half price. I must admit the syrups they sell all suck. For flavor I still drink Diet Coke and Sprite Zero but I use Soda Stream for plain selzer.

Even if the cost benefit ratio was almost a wash, it's still easier.

I lug bottles of soda once a year. And Passover reminds me of one thing. How friggen heavy and annoying it is to have to buy and carry soda. Then those bottles take up my recycling space too.

Sodastream is delivered to my door, multiple month supply, and now that they do the air exchange nationwide door to door too.

The only stupid thing about them is that they were never sold like food. Why is it in housewares or departement stores? Least at Target, that's the only store where the stuff isn't far away or specialty and not near the food.
I prefer the Cola now to name brand.

I notice the quality of foreign materials and goods aren't as consistent as American made, or even Chinese made stuff. Once in a very rare while I get a funky Cola. Or messed up label even. But as I think about it, not since they moved away from the Arab factories have I seen this.

They went through different syrup formula's over the years. There was "original". Then they changed to Fountain which I really liked and preferred. Then they switched back to Original which I finally grew fond of.
Now they have an expensive sodapress organic something. I haven't spent the money on it yet to see how it is. I sometimes wonder about a syrup from somewhere else.

I'm just mad that Welch's grapejuice keeps vanishing. Ever seen V8 and Kool-Aid vanished, or their own cranberry juice, you can never tell if its a supply chain hiccup, or a discontinued product. I used to have so many options I never drank before.

Someone told me they're common in Israel though. I think they come with a filter if I heard correclty.

Lenin’s bEarth Day—now called “International *Mother* Earth Day” by the Untied Nations

Posted by Olog-hai on Thu Apr 22 02:33:44 2021, in response to Lenin's bEarth Day, posted by Olog-hai on Sun Apr 22 08:57:38 2018.

Nothing like mixing in a little paganism with their communism. Never mind more language changes; noticed elsewhere that “carbon neutral” is out and “climate neutral” is in.

One mother of a press release

Commit to restoring the planet, UN chief says in message for International Mother Earth Day

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has called for commitment to restoring the planet, and to making peace with nature, in his message to mark International Mother Earth Day, celebrated annually on 22 April.

This year’s observation is taking place as the planet is at “a tipping point”, he said, as humanity continues to abuse the natural world.

“We heedlessly plunder the Earth’s resources, deplete its wildlife and treat air, land and seas as dumping grounds. Crucial ecosystems and food chains are being pushed to the brink of collapse”, the UN chief stated.

“This is suicidal. We must end our war on nature and nurse it back to health”.

The Secretary-General said ending this war calls for “bold climate action” to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius. Stronger steps to protect biodiversity, and reducing pollution and waste, are also needed.

Mr. Guterres assured that these steps will not only safeguard the planet, “our only home”, but will also create millions of new jobs.

“Recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic is a chance to set the world on a cleaner, greener, more sustainable path”, the Secretary-General said.

“On International Mother Earth Day, let us all commit to the hard work of restoring our planet and making peace with nature.”

For the UN Environment Program (UNEP), the International Day highlights the need to shift to a more sustainable economy that benefits both people and the planet.

“Mother Earth is clearly urging a call to action”, the agency said. “Nature is suffering. Australian fires, heat records and the worst locust invasion in Kenya. Now we face COVID-19, a worldwide health pandemic link to the health of our ecosystem”.

UNEP has developed a Climate Action Note, which provides data showing global progress towards meeting the goals of the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change, signed by more than 190 countries.

“As the climate emergency intensifies, the transition towards climate stability becomes increasingly critical. Progress will depend on countries and their ability to cover ground on their commitments under the Paris Agreement and eventually, their collective contributions to keep the global average temperature well below 2°C.”

Sorry, has nothing to do with the subject except for the word "bump", but I just had to 😂

This weekend, SiriusXM 70s on 7 is playing the American Top 40 broadcast from the week ending 4/22/72, and Mr. Tex's other big hit (I gotcha) was at it's peak position of #3. Casey Kasem told a story about he would manipulate the mike stand while singing, and you see it in this video (around 2:15 or so).

He probably couldn't have made a record like that today 🙄
