International Mother Earth Day is critically important for the healing of our planet and all who inhabit Mother Earth. The United Nations, with its impressive array of military firepower and its effective training that or which follows the precepts of Sun Tzu, serves as our last best hope to overcome regional conflicts and wars and greenhouse emissions global warming climate change climate crisis climate emergency climate disaster climate catastrophe climate Armageddon call it what you will whichever one of those things is the quote phrase du jour close quote.UN Website Home Page: From extreme heat and rising sea levels to biodiversity loss and pollution, Mother Earth is in danger and making a clear call to action - a need to shift to a more sustainable economy that works for both people and the planet. This International Mother Earth Day... let’s mobilize for the planet and all the life it supports. We can all take action to protect nature, tackle climate change and promote harmony with the Earth. Join us for our event focused on the vital connection between human well-being and the health of our planet, taking place from 10 AM to 6 PM New York time. Our current anthropocentric approach leans towards short-term profit and economic growth rather than valuing Nature’s contributions to our overall quality of life. Let’s change it. Will you be there for this event? I would if I could but I can't so I won't. I will, however, be there in spirit alongside my fellow Progressive Democratic brethren who will probably be represented by drum circles and chronic and white guys wearing dreads with those colorful Rastafarian knit caps regardless of the heat index, millennial and Gen Z women sporting eyebrow and chin piercings along with tongue rings and Mohawks, and Hare Krishna in flowing saffron robes. I am among my people.  |
