If you had a tax rate of 10% the millionaire will still have plenty of income left. The person making $20,000 every dollar is important. |

The richest 10% of taxpayers during the Eisenhower administration were in a 90% tax bracket. AOC wants to raise taxes on those earning more than $10 million/yr. Nothing "Draconian" about that at all. |

Draconian may not be the proper adjective, but I do believe that 70% is too high. It will only encourage tax evasion through questionable deductions, shifting assets overseas, etc. The bigger issue is that those who can afford creative accounting practices are more likely to engage in schemes to reduce their marginal tax rate. If we worked at curbing that then we could lower the rates for the honest taxpayers. |

Good.François Hollande raised France's tax rates to 75 percent and people started leaving in droves. He had to drop it back down to 45 percent. Pity AOC is like the dedicated inner party members in 1984, immune to actual history. |
