You don't realize how good our system really is until you have to do it in a foreign country. last year I had The Misfortune of having something happened and I had to use the emergency room in a Canadian Hospital.
while the care was fine and the people were nice to facility was like something out of the 1960s.
and if you think the wait in an American waiting room is long just do one in a Canadian Hospital.

ER waiting time at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx can and does approach 12 hours during the winter months. Peds ER is even worse. I seriously doubt any Canadian ER has patients waiting quite that long.

Stinkin' Lincoln wasn't quite that bad. Part of Jacobi's problem is that it's catchment area is huge, even with Albert Einstein next door picking up the overflow. Calvary Hospital has no ER at all, it's a long-term cancer care facility.

I know of none. I know plenty of Americans that died because they could not see a doctor even though they had insurance, they could not get a timely appointment. When I needed to se a doctor in Canada I had no problem, even in the wilderness.

I lost my husband because he could not get an appointment within ten days with a pulmonologist as ordered by the discharging physician after his first hospital stay. Had he been able to get into respiratory therapy he may have lived to get to chemo. Had he gotten chemo he might still be alive.
