The Connecticut man accused of killing his girlfriend and sparking an Amber Alert when he took off with their 6-year-old daughter, was previously deported, immigration officials said Friday.

"Oscar Obedio Hernandez, a citizen of El Salvador, was issued a Final Order of Removal by an immigration judge on Oct. 29, 201," spokesman Shawn Neudauer told FOX61. "He was removed from the United States by ICE officers in Hartford, CT on Nov. 27, 2013. He has prior felony convictions from 2002 for assault and threatening, as well as several misdemeanor convictions. ICE has placed an immigration detainer with the Bridgeport (Connecticut) Police Department.”

Aylin Sofia Hernandez was recovered, shortly after 11 a.m. Friday and her father, Oscar Hernandez, was taken into custody, state police said.

Amber Alerts were issued in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and lastly Pennsylvania after Bridgeport police say Oscar Hernandez stabbed two women at 69 Greenwood St. at about 2:45 a.m., then took off with the child.

One of the victims, believed to be the Aylin's 26-year-old mother, has died. The other victim, a family friend, is in critical condition but expected to survive.

Oscar Hernandez and the girl were believed to be traveling in a four-door, gray Hyundai Sonata sedan with the Connecticut license plate No. AG91925. New York police earlier described the vehicle as a Hyundai Elantra with NY plates.

The search extended to New York City when Oscar Hernandez's phone pinged in the Bronx at around 4:30 a.m., police said.

He was last seen traveling on Jennings Street in the Bronx, more than 50 miles from the stabbing scene, according to New York police.

Police were later seen nearby on Louis Nine Boulevard, where a building super said Hernandez may have made a phone call early Friday. If so, police said he was not caught on surveillance video.

Hernandez is a known criminal, according to Bridgeport police. Additional details on his past alleged crimes was not provided.

Hernandez is a known criminal

So the sanctuary state status of CT would not have kept him from deportation had he been apprehended for some other offense, even a fairly minor one.

It's a terrible story, but so are all murders. If your point is that illegal aliens sometimes commit crimes, then I agree.

Everyone wants people like that deported. But yesterday Mohammed Ali's son was held at an airport for 2 extra hours because of his name. So when ICE and/or TSA interprets a new directive from Trump, they will fuck it up.

As for rounding up El Salvadorans, local police like in Brentwood don't like this crackdown. They heavily rely on tips from the rest of the undocumented community. If they are afraid to step up and report, crime will get worse because the cops will have nothing to go on.

R2 says "not everyone" agrees that illegal alien criminals should be deported. I'm saying so what, "not everyone" agrees that all legal citizens should be allowed to stay here. It's true It's easy to find a story about a criminal from any background committing a terrible crime and say look those people are bad. A story to fuel the hysteria. There's bad, sick, depraved ppl of all backgrounds walking around unfortunately. The reality is that the vast majority of people of all ethnic & religious backgrounds wants to do nothing more than find a career and take care of themselves and their families. With his criiminal background this asshole would have been deported if stopped sanctuary state or not.

You do the crime you do the time. That is why I am against any immigration policy that provides amnesty to illegals and/or prioritizes them over those who came here legally and are following the established path for citizenship. Facilition has a specific legal definition. You have failed to allege the necessary predicates. By all accounts the father was in Connecticut in advance of Malloy's decision. A state cannot possibly round up all illegals in two days.

A state cannot possibly round up all illegals in two days.

Also, it's not clear anything changed as a result of the declaration of sanctuary status. He was a wanted criminal before the declaration and afterwards. The police would not have stopped looking for him because of the declaration.
