And that's where he was going. He was not obeying, but instead walking away from cops and towards his driver's door, and that caused panic and fear and she probably won't be convicted. |

It is extraordinarily difficult to convict a cop of Murder. Also, if Oklahoma does not have a "depraved indifference" Murder statute, it is an even more difficult case to win. The reason for this is that every jurisdiction has a self-defense statute with intentional crimes. We saw with George Zimmerman what happens when you over charge in a case. |

Criminal activity in other countries, just as life in general, is a different animal. Other countries have less guns in general, making it much less likely a confrontation with a perp could be fatal. Criminals in other countries could be less likely (on their terms) to be violent when faced with police coming onto them.It's now a game in America to run from the police and fight back. No police officer graduates from the academy without a clear understanding of the threats they may face. And it's not manufactured or imagined. As they say, the rules are written in blood. Police caution when dealing with persons of interest at a vehicle have come about from police officers being killed because the person inside had a concealed weapon the officer wasn't expecting. Which is why when being pulled over, it's common knowledge (as well as courteous), to shut the engine, open the window, turn the lights on (if at night), and keep your hands on the wheel. |

Really?I just posted the story from Tampa from two weeks ago where cops shot an unarmed WHITE man fleeing in a vehicle. And shooting whites goes back to when Chicago PD made Swiss cheese out of Al Capone's brother in broad daylight. Whites just aren't out committing nearly as many street crimes as blacks today. As a result, we're not killing each other on the streets, nor are we getting into confrontations with police as often as blacks. There are reasons why blacks as a whole are at a disadvantage and end up in these situations. Poverty. Education. Growing up in high-crime environment. Music. Lack of positive role models. |
