Well I'm glad she cooks meals. A woman should do those things.

As for gluten you linked and I could link to lots of stuff from pubmed to support avoiding gluten.

But is your stuff supported by objective medical evidence? The information I posted was and there's plenty more stating the same.

Pubmed is very objective. Gluten is not the only argument against wheat.

Thanks. Your wife cooks for you and that's good because many fatfeminism women eat fast-food.

I will thread about gluten on 12/15

Those are national chains though - their profits end up elsewhere. We prefer our local Nichol's market and for the commodity stuff, we'll go to Hannaford. Point being that around here, we prefer to keep as much money IN the community rather than shipping it out of state. We prefer the local farmers and the locally owned, single family operators wherever possible. It's a philosophical thing for us.

Yep ... used to be a chain out of Maine. That's why we save them only for commodity stuff the others don't have.

Actually, since she works and I'm retired I do most of the cooking. Salads and chicken dishes, mostly. I make a mean chicken breast with raspberry garnish!

Nah, self-preservation. My wife lived out of town for 7 months so if I didn't learn to cook something other than steaks on the grill for myself, I'd starve! My next-door neighbor (the retired airline pilot) is a superb cook so I was inspired by his example. Turns out I have a knack for cooking certain dishes although (fortunately!) baking isn't one of them.

I leave Cancun for Chicago in a couple hours. The last time I was there I stood under the F4F Wildcat fighter at the appointed time waiting for the chicagomotorman to show up. Funny thing... I never saw him. As always in circumstances such as this I was wearing my ridiculously oversized www.subway.org button featuring the reliefs of the 110th/Cathedral Parkway and 190th/Overlook Terrace stations. Anyway, I was left high and dry and felt like the loser who stands off to the side at the high school prom with no date and no prospects. I finally headed over to my aircraft which was already boarded with a reserve field standby male stewardess filling in for me until I arrived. I keep putting myself in untenable positions I have nobody to blame but myself. Just pathetic.
