So you would walk up to a possibly unstable person with a presumably real gun and spray them with Pepper spray or try to take them down with a Taser? I don't think so. If you are not knowledgeable about police tactics, how do you call what the officer did, wrong? Perhaps if it were a knife or an axe, what you considered might work but with a gun, certainly not. Instead of blaming the police, how about blaming the parents who allowed their child to own a realistic looking gun and let him out on the streets with it. I'm sure that at the end of the day, this police officer had every intention of going home to his family and has as much right to do so as you or I do. I feel sorry for the child and equally sorry for the police officer. |

He was placed in a horrible situation but I believe that he made a good choice. Once the kid reached for the gun, he had no other choice but to protect his, his partners, and the public's life by utilizing his firearm. Using a tazer or pepperspray against a percieved gun is a sure way to get killed in the line of duty. |
