Posted by cortelyounext on Thu Oct 30 09:15:50 2014 The Progressive Democrats on this board are now torn. The Apple CEO is a proud gay man but was raised in Alabama and attended Auburn. Since everyone from the South is by definition a Conservative Republican, uneducated and unenlightened, therein lies the comumdrum I think is the word I am looking for. Alabamans are ignorant and rooted in the Jim Crow South without any redeeming qualities. Here |

By the way, that post is exactly the reason I spend less time on this site. The broad blush applied to those on the other side of reason aisle partisan divide call it what you will. For some, nothing a political party or politician stands for counts for anything. Even in the rare moment when the barriers breakdown and we as Americans |

In the interest of full disclosure, this thread was not to imply only one side is guilty of the behaviour. It is equally shared. For what it's worth, most people who contribute to this site are thoughtful, reasonable, and far more intelligent per se than cortelyounext. |

Although I will neither confirm nor deny I actually listen to Terry Gross of Fresh Air, as a lifelong registered Democrat who tunes in to NPR I feel imminently or eminently qualified to offer the following commentary. There is one other reason I am not around this place to the extent I was in the past and that is the preponderance of unnamed individuals on this site who write in a style that is the equivalent of speaking like so many Progressive Democrats nowadays. Said individuals you know who you are routinely begin sentences with the word so, interject the word right in the form of a question in the middle of sentences, and place emphasis on the last word in sentences through high rising intonation for no apparent reason other than it is the current thing in vogue. To their credit, there are no recorded cases in history of Conservative Republicans ever using these grammatical devices. It is tedious and it is annoying and I pray it is eradicated in my lifetime. |
