You're too lazy to check.As long ago as last October, 44% of the doctors in the New York State Medical Society said they would not participate in Obamacare. NBC in Connecticut has reported about doctors refusing to take Obamacare patients. The Washington Examiner reported last year that the head of the California's largest medical association said an estimated seven out of every 10 physicians in California won't participate. Having said all that, did you even notice CNS was citing an analysis of a study by the Medical Group Management Association? You didn't? Why, because you're too lazy to read the article and evaluate the news without letting your hatred blind you? MGMA represents more than 33,000 medical practice administrators and executives in practices of all sizes, types, structures and specialties. Is that a "valid" enough source for your lazy ass? |

Dave, the issue with the 44% number is that it does not tell the whole story. Not all doctors are members of the New York State Medical Society and not all may have responded if they are or not. In Manhattan south of 96th Street there are a large number of physicians who take NO INSURANCE, PPACA or not. I know my father has seen an increase in patients and pay as a result of PPACA. More people with coverage is leading more people to come in for preventive care and treatment of acute illness. By coming in early they can be treated at lower cost. If your Glucose and Hemoglobin A1C levels are slightly elevated diet and exercise can, many times, get it back into normal range and at little cost (beyond doctor visits and blood tests) to the insurance company. Under the old system they would show up to the hospital with a Diabetes-related problem and treatment would be expensive and at taxpayer expense |

In March senior administration officials said there were up to 1.5 million people who now have health insurance through individual or small-group plans that weren't compliant with Obamacare minimum standards. Bloomberg reported last year that insurance companies were terminating policies for many people whose insurance didn’t meet the standards of the ACA. |

In my case, my employer merely uses them to handle the paperwork, the company is self-insured and signs off on any bill submitted, no questions asked. Paid in full. But trying to get doctors to understand that it's just United Hellcare doing the paperwork and their other policies don't matter and they'll get paid in full, they STILL won't accept it because of the pile of shit logo of United Hellcare on the card. |

They are also doing something about expanding the networks, at least in NY. Next year should improve. IMHO, they should ban the networks, mandate ONE universal code structure, design easier to use documentation for claims than they have currently to educe administrative staff stress on practices and more MDs will join in. After all, they do want the patients, just not the paperwork. Address that complaint |
