I can certainly see the benefits of the low taxes and stable regulations, though the modest govt spending could have consequences, since it doesn't sound like Texas is keeping up with infrastructure requirements. |

The credible analyses that I've seen is that the Texas advantage is almost all related to lower home prices relative to other states with comparable available jobs. And yes, there is no doubt that those are related to lesser regulation. |

Its cool, for now they're doing quite well. They got a surplus in the budget. However they cannot sustain this forever, gas and oil tax collection will fall eventually and once that happens they can't sustain the system they have now. Hopefully they can budget for that eventuality. |
