"HOUSTON, Texas -- Yet another survey has confirmed that Texas is home to the nation's best business climate.

For the sixth year in a row, Texas is the highest-ranked state in the Development Counsellors International's (DCI) "Winning Strategies in Economic Development Marketing" survey. The survey of U.S. corporate executives has tracked economic trends each year since 1996.

Of the 356 who were interviewed, about 50 percent said that Texas is the best state in which to conduct business. Florida came in a distant second, followed by Georgia and North Carolina.

DCI President Andrew T. Levine said of the study, "With competition for business more fierce than ever, this information is particularly important for communities as they look at how to influence corporate executives’ decisions on where to locate, invest and create jobs."

Texas was also recently ranked number one on Chief Executive magazine's best states for business for the tenth year in a row. In that study, rankings were determined by surveying over 500 CEOs across the U.S. Business leaders were asked to grade states based on several categories including tax climates, regulations and red tape, and quality of living.

Pro-business policies, low taxes, and predictable regulation have made Texas an ideal state to start and grow businesses in.

Vance Ginn, an economist at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, previously told Breitbart Texas, "It really seems to be that the less government intervention there is, the more likely businesses are to grow and the entrepreneurial spirit is to thrive. What we've seen is that the Texas model of low taxes, modest government spending, and stable regulations provides a business-friendly environment that gives incentives for businesses to move to the state."
