Yeah 3 ppl catching Ebola all treated/working in same hospital isn't much of an epidemic. My prediction this 'epidemic' will end right about the time the last vote is counted on election day...

8 years of the Playboy of the western world (Bush the younger)
the quote on this poster is so true :(

If it weren't for learning from Holocaust survivors when I was a kid, I probably would be like most others and not give a shit. But I was perpetually imbued with what lead up to it all and cautioned to make sure it never happened again. Then Fox News once "GOP TV" grew up. :(

Sadly SO true ... what's even sadder is that the children and grandchildren of those who taught me can even BUY that shit with open eyes. :(

But I refuse to stop fighting it, I made many promises to do my part.

Speaking of Truth....

You might want to see if you can find the collected essays of George Orwell - 4 volumes. If not buying, then at the local library.
They span from the early 30s to he late 40s.

I mentioned these in an earlier post. They're quite good. I've only read the first volume cover to cover, and poked around in the others.
Have them in paperback.

These essays are really where he made his mark. What I found is that many of the themes that turned up in 1984, he wrote about and worked out in these essays. His ideas about propaganda, political movements, the masses, upper class leftism in England, are almost contemporary the way he dissects and analyzes them. He saw through everything and called a spade a spade.

It's beem my refrain these days, "Where is Orwell when we need him?"

Oh yeah, and he really dug Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer - devoted a whole essay to it.

Really pisses off the tards. I'm up for it. (grin)

What amazes me though is how slavery is closing in on them, and they've been directed to blame their fellow middle classers and those who have even less than them for what's going on. :-\

Like the poor even have the means to oppress. :0\

It's morning in America..............right.....maybe mourning for it.
They keep voting against their own interests, and live in their own bubble of misinformation, prejudice, and "empowerment through ignorance"

"Like the poor even have the means to oppress"
- the lies/propaganda are implicit in just the word they use, "entitlements"

Yep ... I was an avid reader of that stuff back in the 70's. But then again, the Ologists have declared him a commie while they wait like Oliver Twist begging for more and enjoying getting kicked to the curb. :-/

Goebbels and other propagandists prior scared the shit out of anyone with an Iq higher than single digits while it was happening, and demanded that anyone who wasn't their own favorite vegetable demand that it not ever happen again. Yet here we are. :(

One of the things they teach you in journo 101 is to spot the euphemisms and "newspeak" and run like hell from endorsing them in what you write. Alas, even there, they blame the historians for "political correctness" even though they were never the ones who created it. I cringe every time I see the word "positioning" as to how to properly tell the customer they're about to get fucked, but they should lay back and enjoy it because it's going to be great.

And dumbasses that they are, they buy THAT shit too. :(

the Oliver Twist comment - couldn't have said it better...
and what did Zappa say, "Call any vegetable....."

scared the shit out of anyone with an Iq higher than single digits
- those were the Germans with some sense in their heads and humanity.
they either immigrated, were done in, went underground and did resistance work, or hunkered down and kept quiet for 12 years.

The "enemies" are different now, but it's still a cold war mentality... and the old cliche the culture wars of the sixties are still being fought is unfortunately still so true.

And people don't question and continue to believe the shit the GOP spews out. :(

They repeat the same old cliches like robots, without ever thinking what they are saying....

"And the chances are ... that the vegetable will RESPOND to you!" Ever wonder why I love OTchat so much? Lulz

So much autism here, never ceases to amuse. That's why the shrinks from the "state farm" down the road come and lurk here. Makes them more compassionate towards their "clients" who are nowhere NEAR as fucked up as some of the folks here are. :)
