Well, if it can play media and browse the web as well as a desktop, then it handles 50-60% of the needs already, at least. An up-to-date office suite (not necessarily MS Office, Libre Office is fairly good) handles more of them. It probably won't handle more specialized needs, but that's what happens when the OS most people write for also happens to be one of the most poorly constructed. |

Well ... we're still finishing up the 10 version since our earlier versions are still safe. But lessee ... 10 has Chromium (Chrome without the google crap in it), Firefox 26 (the last version without crap in IT), Midori (a really super privacy browser) and Epiphany (Safari compatible) as just the browsers you can choose. Supports Flash, and every POSSIBLE media player built in, OpenJDK which is much more secure than Oracle Java, Thunderbird for email (and a couple of lesser options), Transmission bitorrent (with protection), and just recently we had to kill Skype support because Microsoft decided to revive "Bob" (NSSA) and replace it with Linphone which does all of that and more for internet stuff. It's equipped with a hardened version of TOR (we fixed the Navy code so it's secure again) just for the internet tools lineup. We even added Wireshark if you want to see what your network is ACTUALLY doing right now for kicks.Comes with a raft of games, WINE (Windows emulator) which runs many Windwos games, for graphics, includes Blender 3D rendering, GIMP, Inkscape vector rendering, Scribus desktop publishing, Shotwell photo manager, and video editing out the wazoo with KDEnlive which will convert anything to any other format, VLC media player as well as our own called Totem "plus" which really WILL play ANYTHING, even full screen no matter WHAT kind of media file it is (including Apple), Calibre book reader and editor, LibreOffice full package, and a raft of other neat stuff too numerous to mention. There's 1168 applications which are all in the upcoming 10 version of KNOS from soup to nuts. :) If we didn't include it, then you don't need it. All locked down, all sandboxed, all invulnerable. It runs on ANY Intel-based machine including Macs from 2007 to today. Only provisos are that you need at minimum 1GB of memory (more is much better) and the ONLY wifi cards we are unable to support are those made by Broadcom. Sadly, there's plenty of those POS' out there but you can always go hardwire or use a cheapo USB wifi device to work around those. :) Boots off a DVD, or you can make a bootable USB stick that will boot in one minute because we don't need to write to your hard disk. Everything on the hard disk is left completely alone, but you can read stuff from it if you want. Here's the list of goodies, I'm testing out the latest build right now: Packages in this KNOS Distribution ... I don't know, but TenFourFox doesn't support plugins so Java doesn't work anyway. On the Intel Mac? Apparently, it's installed but Java apps need permission to run. (Java apps are replaced with a gray box; when clicked, Firefox asks if I want to allow Java.) On Windows XP? I don't know and I don't care because it can't be infected by anything. |

It's equipped with a hardened version of TOR (we fixed the Navy code so it's secure again) What's wrong with TOR? ... we had to kill Skype support because Microsoft decided to revive "Bob" (NSSA)... What's this? ... WINE (Windows emulator)... I thought it stood for Wine Is Not an Emulator! Speaking of which, does Virtual Box work? Some of my software is harder to replace. So anyway, how many people do you have working on this? Somehow, I doubt you're bigger than Microsoft. |

In the rest of the digital world, try accessing your iCloud now. What iCloud? I would never let any of my private data leave my hard drive(s). Besides, you need at least OSX 10.7 to use iCloud, so I can't access it anyway. Even my Intel Macs can't upgrade that far because most of my software is PowerPC-native and Lion doesn't support Rosetta. But when the software is guaranteed to be safe too, and able to provide all of the functionality you need plus work like what you're already used to, it's a really useful tradeoff to not have to worry about being infected. Sure, but I doubt you could say as much of Debian— how many companies are releasing KNOS versions of their software? And then there's the "small fish" not worth writing code for. System 7 for 68K! But as security gets better among the big boys, we're even seeing malware written for the XBox and Playstation now. Yeah, well the Bone and the Pisser have sold, like, eleventy million units while the number of PowerPC Macs still online continues to dwindle. I had to take my Powermac G4 offline when the ethernet cable broke. (Luckily, I found a replacement.) |

There's MANY ways to slip right past unsigned Java apps in Leisureboat Larry's pile'o'crap. Permissions? Lulz ... only by those who don't provide something resembling a valid or invalid certificate. Feed it a checksum even without one, and you run. :(Xpee ... triple lulz. but good you have something that won't run Java, run Flash or opening anything that claims to be a PDF. On Firefox, they made nice with doubleclick., When you install the newer versions, they come with ads in the default screen of "recently visited sites" until you fill them up. And like Google Chrome, they PRELOAD them! No thanks. There were some nice changes done to HTML5 in 27 and 30, we just added that code to our source of 26 to keep it up to date without the crap the Mozilla foundation added to it when they fired shithead. Nice and safe!TOR ... had some surprising vulnerabilities built in which got bitcoin and the drug joint (tired, forget their name now) ... we fixed it. Skype ... they decided to move every connection to the cloud now instead of peer to peer. Seems Bob is already plugged in. And yeah, Stallman INSISTS that WINE is not an emulator, and he gets bonus points because it STILL won't run iTunes. But we did fix most of it for KNOS so it runs a raft of stuff. Sadly, Linux then went and fucked it all up so the latest versions blow goats entirely. We forked from there before they did. Virtual Box is sorta like VMware ... build an image of an OS and you can run it. Downside is it needs a LOT of memory for the image to run it, but if you've got it, we'll run it. How many people? About 85 right now. When we had the federal contract, about 740. But the old code we still peddle is STILL good, and if folks in America start buying again, we could add more. Most of our existing customers who care about keeping Bob out are in the few countries we're allowed to sell to in the Middle East and eastern Europe. Mostly military and infrastructure companies who can't AFFORD to get hacked. Can't disclose the list though. |

I gotta go sleep now, I'm way overdue. As far as iCloud goes, if anybody even tries to touch it you will get an email every time now saying that it's been touched. Debian ... lulz. The ONLY version of Penguin lately that hasn't gone full retard with systemd is slackware and Gentoo. For NOW.As to fully locked down, unfuckable? Not a single one in Linux, and not a single BSD. What we did is UNIQUE. That's why we get paid for it. :) Let's put it this way. Nokia and Blackberry are pwned too now. They're even writing malware for Maytag now. :( These are Russkies and Chinese and Syrians. A couple of dollars are worth their time now that there are so many "hack kits" and so many free compilers out there for everything. Write once, infect many. :( EVERYTHING runs Java, and porn requires Flash or HTML5. Write code that crashes the program, and you pwn the machine. If you crash KNOS, it'll reboot and forget the last session entirely. :) |

But there's another fix in the pipeline about to be released, so maybe ... :)Skype ... yeah, gotta move to the cloud now and curiously, the Linux version of it is completely broken. Virtual Box? 4 GB is more than enough. The website? Well ... when we weren't making much money on the retail end, we've pretty much abandoned it. Too busy with code, and we're too busy with existing customers right now. I'm kind of a control freak and the one thing we don't need right now is me having to expand my workload. Let's just say that I'm too involved right now with a particular company that's in the Fortune top ten and I really can't afford to take on more right now. When 10 gets released, you'll see that all pop back in action again but 10 has been a wee bit backburnered with some more pressing needs right now. Get back to me when my major customer's recent release calms down a bit. :) And ZFGG? well ... that's what bingbong named it many years ago for other purposes. It's an S corporation incorporated in NYS. |

On the plus side, "Question 11" is a much nicer epithet. You used to scream: "Nilet is a Nazi!!!111one!" Adding "Question 11!" to the subject line when I say I like cheeseburgers or I support more open immigration laws does not actually answer the question. |

I believe it exists! That is not an answer. You have repeatedly made it clear that you do not believe in Israel's continued existence as its founders intended - a Jewish State What "enemies" of Israel have I supposedly "sided" with? Because I sure can't think of any. Gaza Hamas Palestinians who want to turn Israel into an Arab state |

That is not an answer.Considering that "believe in Israel" is a meaningless undefined sentence, yes it is. You have repeatedly made it clear that you do not believe in Israel's continued existence as its founders intended - a Jewish State Define "Jewish State." Gaza Gaza is a physical location, not a "side" that anyone can support or oppose. Hamas Hamas can go fuck themselves. Palestinians who want to turn Israel into an Arab state Anyone who wants to turn Israel into an "Arab state" can go fuck themselves. So what "enemies" of Israel have I supposedly "sided" with? Because I sure can't think of any, and you apparently can't either. |
