Besides, you need at least OSX 10.7 to use iCloud, so I can't access it anyway. Even my Intel Macs can't upgrade that far because most of my software is PowerPC-native and Lion doesn't support Rosetta. But when the software is guaranteed to be safe too, and able to provide all of the functionality you need plus work like what you're already used to, it's a really useful tradeoff to not have to worry about being infected. Sure, but I doubt you could say as much of Debian— how many companies are releasing KNOS versions of their software? And then there's the "small fish" not worth writing code for. System 7 for 68K! But as security gets better among the big boys, we're even seeing malware written for the XBox and Playstation now. Yeah, well the Bone and the Pisser have sold, like, eleventy million units while the number of PowerPC Macs still online continues to dwindle. I had to take my Powermac G4 offline when the ethernet cable broke. (Luckily, I found a replacement.) |
