No, it's a hard and fast number - death rates - not some perception.The colors are death rates. The grades are rankings from the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence based on a point system for aspects of each state's gun laws (background checks, regulation of sales, licensing, concealed/open carry and Stand your Ground laws, etc.). The map is actually 2012; Indiana improved to a D- in 2013. |

The map still shows it isn't mutually exclusive. There are states with "bad" gun laws, like Maine, but have good death rate. Then there are many, almost uncountable that have an alleged "F" or D and don't make the chart at all.All this map shows is that there are MANY factors involved, and it's not mutually exclusive. |

That's the only one.No there isn't, all those states that have "F"s, yet no saying weather their "deathrate" is close on either end. What I was showing with the map is that strong state or local gun laws are meaningless when there are weak gun laws across a nearby border. It doesn't even show that the states that have it or don't have it are necessarily good or bad. The map shows that there is limited correlation. |
