I was in Riverside Square or whatever that place is called now off Route 4 in Hackensack and I saw one of those "Employment Opportunities - Inquire Within" signs at Aunt Annie's. As part of my ongoing education in the culinary arts, I stopped and was fascinated slash mesmerized call it what you will by the employee who took the dough and rapidly made it into a pretzel shape until I noticed said individual, hereafter referred to as SI for purposes of this thread, was basically cheating by using a template. All SI had to do was stretch out the dough and then twist it to follow the outline of the template. I was going to confront SI but thought better of it and walked away to get on with my life. Anyway, I suppose if you are moving across the river to New Jersey like JayZeeBMT who is a social activist for various Progressive causes and a published playwright you can apply for that position. I hope you will take my suggestion under advisement and let us all of us know how it turns out, and thanks.

Congrats on moving "upstate" although I'd caution that those of us who live "really upstate" consider the general Newburgh area to still be part of "downstate." Still, congrats. When I left the Bronx, my own first stop was in Plattekill, which is further up Rt 32 near the Ulster county boundary. It's an interesting place, you'll find the general decay of Newburgh to be "quaint" and will remind you of parts of Brooklyn.

Once you've assimilated to the area where you will suddenly find yourself labelled as a "librul" you're welcome to move to the REAL upstate in hopefully just a few years where you'll be welcomed with open arms and handed your free upstate rifle to have and to hold.

Congrats and WELCOME to upstate Noo Yawk! :)

Was supposed to go to my friend's house this past Sunday to cut more foam and start laying the track plan on it. He printed out 1:1 the plan, which will get pinned to the foam. We'll lay the Woodland Scenics risers and track-bed on top of that. But he was sick this weekend, though, so I didn't go. Maybe this Sunday but I may need to go out of town.

In May I hope to get started on my layout.

Will you please stop generalizing by referring to Orange as really bad? There are many places in Orange that are beautiful to include Harriman State Park and the area around Waywayanda and Pine Island which has a lot of onion farms. It also follows from the Transitive Property that you are attacking the Joel community or whatever that place is called. To better illustrate my point here is a picture I found which is like the one you posted a few years ago of one of the AEMs in front of that sign in Brentwood, and thanks for reading my post.

I bet in 2 or 3 years, Woodhaven will become a new "HOT" area like Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Alot of Hipsters and Yuppies are priced out and they are looking for an easy commute and cheaper housing. Don't be suprised that this happens.

it'll happen, but there's no predicting when. Some neighborhoods turn quickly, like Williamsburg, some take 30 years, like East Houston/Stanton/Rivington (which was already turning in 1980 but is still full of non-gentrified buildings).

You are perceptive - I am indeed a racist elitist but only to the extent I hate all minorities.
