It teaches young Scouts that being gay is so unacceptably wrong that no gay teen or adult may become a member.So? That's their right. It shows teens who discover they are gay, that Scouting finds them unacceptable just because of who they are. It reinforces the ostracism they may already have experienced in their families, churches, or schools. Suggestion. Form your own group for these young boys. Stop forcing others to do it for you. It sends a direct message to society at large, that homophobia is a core value of Scouting. No shit, after all they are a Christian organization, and Christianity condemns homosexuality as an abomination. |
