Her statements on the Zimmerman's history of bigotry go to George's state of mind on the night of Trayvon's killing. Her statements on Zimmerman's alleged pedophilia go to (among other things) his character and credibility, and perhaps even a motive--beyond the Martin killing--for tucking away that second passport and scheming with his wife to hide his true finances from the court. He had to know this was going to come to light, eventually.What you say about this woman's credibility and motives is interesting, given that almost everyone accused of pedophilia is automatically presumed guilty, because of the nature of the allegations. This is a BIG reason Jerry Sandusky went from arrest to trial to conviction in just 7 months--that's lightspeed in the criminal justice system, especially for a case with so many felony charges--with no physical evidence at all. Some of the charges against Sandusky didn't even state a time or date of offense--merely that an assault had occurred at some time in the past. The state's entire case was built on (uncorroborated) witness testimony. (I'm not saying Sandusky was innocent, just that he was handled according to the nature of the charges against him. There are people accused of murder who wait years for a trial.) Why, then is this witness' accusation suddenly "suspect" to you? Because you are sympathetic to the defendant? |
