I never, ever understood the propensity of so many people to spill their guts while in police custody. I always thought the military had it right: If captured, give no information; name, rank, and serial number, that's all. IINM, the only information I'm legally required to give the cops if under arrest, is my pedigree. I have no obligation to assist them in my own prosecution.That said, it DOES beg the question, just how are the cops able to get people to completely forget what they were told in their Miranda warning, and confess all manner of felonious behavior? |
