No, the dormitories are to enforce the ownership of Foxconn. You have to EARN the right to leave the company town once a year to visit your family and not many make the grade. Three folks who worked there are on our payroll, and four more of them work directly for the BSD foundation. They've noticed the difference.

Look into "company town" in the days of coal. That's what Foxconn is doing, right down to the commissary that you'll never get out of debt with.
