It is an irony that ethnic Germans and Poles and Jews are all blandly called white in this country, when they sure weren't (and probably aren't) in the Mother Country*It's taken awhile for all European groups to simply be "White" in America, mostly through generations of intermixing and rising numbers of non-Europeans to contrast against. |
