In this country you can be considered "Hispanic" for civil rights purposes if you are simply "Spanish surnamed." That includes a lot of people. In fact I know a young woman who has a German surname who got a "Hispanic" scholarship because her mother had a Spanish surname.If you saw her, she doesn't look Italian or Spanish or Jewish or Peruvian, or any of these. She looks German. |
