Purchased house in Massapequa for $25,000. Currently valued in the mid $600,000 (based on recent offer by agent, even though house is not for sale). Same thing would have held true for my parents, if they had lived. House in Brooklyn (Midwood) purchased for $23,900. Current value = $575,000.
