Gordon Heights has much different housing stock than Wheatly Heights, so I doubt it.

Hey, with the forthcoming Yaphank electrification project, you never know.

Gordon Heights is an unusual neighborhood. It's one of the only I know of that is, and ALWAYS was a Black neighborhood. Unlike most other Black Neighborhoods, which usually were white neighborhoods that slowly turned black in the 60's, Gordon Height was built as a "Black Neighborhood". It began in the 40's or 50's, and the developer actually promoted to and targeted Black families to buy homes there. So it it's one of the few Black Neighborhoods that was always Black, and never White.

And how it was able to attract so many people despite being so far from the city, let alone decent rail service to the city at the time is unusual. Apparently in the 60s, North Amityville was also being advertised as a "black-friendly" version of Levittown, and I wonder if Gordon Heights was the same case.
