I don't think many in NY area even thing "Taco Bell" is Mexican food (we have plenty of Mexican restaurants around to know what "Mexican food" is (although granted, the Southwest does have better of course). But yes, the scenario in theory is correct. "Pizza Hut is to Pizza what Taco bell is to Mexican Food, or McDonalds is to a hamburger". All three of the chain examples are assemblyline, corporate versions of the real foods they represent. It's not about being a "pizza snob". I but it's a chain version of food. I said I "like" having Pizza Hut occasionally, but the experience is quite similar to having Taco Bell instead of real Mexican food. I occasionally go to Taco Bell too, but I know when I go in, I am not having "Mexican Food". It's a corporate assembly line version of whatever they make the outlets sell. It's like going to McDonalds instead of a Bar/Grill for a Cheeseburger. You'll get the same mediocre crappy assemblyline chain store burger any McDonalds you go to. |
