What about the GOP's public pledge to use their control of Congress to upset and sabotage every initiative Obama makes, for the express purpose of defeating him in the next election?Obama said he'd get tough on terrorism. He did, killing OBL AND his top deputy. Obama said he'd do something about high unemployment. He has introduced a jobs plan that the GOP keeps filibustering and derailing. Where is the GOP's own jobs plan? Obama said he'd send the US Navy out to fight African-coast pirates who were attacking US shipping. He is the first President since John Tyler to actually do it. Obama said he'd end the Iraq war in his first term, which he DID. Obama said he'd reform healthcare, which he did--albeit a plan that was watered down by the GOP, amidst insane conservative rhetoric that there would be 'death panels' and all kinds of horrible consequences. A federal appeals court ruled--a few days ago that Obama's healthcare law was, in fact, constitutional. Of course, now the GOP will go to the (conservative) Supreme Court. |
