Fully half of the supposedly opposed (as the republicant base is so quick to bring up) wanted to see HCR go much further than what was passed. Only 30%...roughly the republicant base....is opposed to HCR.Fact is, they passed what they passed with full intentions of fixing it....such as added the highly desired public option (or opening Medicare asa paid premium insurance option). This is what happens when unreasonable politics get in the way of something that needs to be done. We've seen that happen since 2009, be it the first stimulus' pointless and wholly ineffective tax cuts, HCR as passed, down to the obstructionism seen from the republicants in their filibustering virtually every single bill introduced lately, and the garbage (war on women, that Ryan "budget", ending Medicare, unionbusting etc.) coming from the House. |
