I dispise the ratings systems, it really is counter productive. A negative rating makes it harder to get good rates which in turn makes it more difficult to get out of any mess you may be in. However this might be the wake up call the GOP needs to accept more radical cuts or raising revenue with tax increases. If the US just invested 2 trillion into infrastructure repair it would result in millions of new jobs as the US gives itself the infrastructure for the 21st century to compete with other nations and the construction would boost the economy with the new jobs created. With the new jobs and perhaps a tax increase that 2.1 trillion could pay itself off rather quickly.also the US should take over the building of telecommunication lines and fiber optic lines and then lease them to companies so that there are more companies and then in turn lower prices to the consumer. The US needs to take the lead again. Right now I understand the need to cut spending but to get out of this mess, we need to spend and get our country in a competitive position. |
