This younger Bush may not be a good president, but he is by no means the WORST one when you look at history.I would say that there are a few worse presidemns, however, with the second worst being Reagan and Reaganomics which sent this country into a recession path (which he escaped blame for only because of term limits, and which ruined the elder Bush's one term in office), and massive borrowing when not necessary to rebuild the country (which is why FDR is not a bad president, he was trying various fixes to a broke system). The WORST president ever, however, has to be Herbert Hoover, under whom our economic system collapsed, causing likewise to happen worldwide. And while Bush may be incompetent, Hoover took the cake in this category. Even if FDR didn't run, he would have been one and done anyway. Hoover basically sat back and did NOTHING, not even react, to try to do SOMETHING, ANYTHING, to try to remedy the problem that became the Depression. HOOVER was the ULTIMATE waste of space. Buchanan would likely be behind him, with a dishonorable mention to Andrew "Cronyism's Father" Jackson. Yes, Bush may be in the bottom fourth in terms of presidents and how good they were, but he is NOT the worst. |
