Lexington sounds more like a guy's name to me. Like Lex Luthor.I would never name a girl Ashley either. I find name gender switching a fascinating phenomenon. It's socially acceptable to give a girl a guy's name but not vice versa. It's socially acceptable for a woman to dress up in (modified) guy's clothes, but not the other way around (women can wear pants but non-Scotsmen can't wear skirts). And short haircuts on women are more accepted than long hair on men, although this is somewhat of a subversion. |
