I didn't say that one way or another, nor did I claim you did. But "regime change" is the excuse for the speculators, pushing prices WAY up past any market shift values for the potential losses. This is nothing more than a cash grab at the levels it is right now. There will be no prosecution of course.Longer term though, this shouldn't be a surprise. This isn't the first time this game has been played, and it won't be the last. And we'll be setting a new benchmark as the rest of the world's economy moves forward as we choke our own like the EU did last year. Now WE"RE doing it. Meanwhile, people are buying guzzlers again and completely oblivious to the lessons that could have been learned in the last warning. And we could have remained on the path to alternatives. But those got shouted down. Ah well ... we pay then. We could have made an economy out of fixing the problem, but instead we gave it to China. |
