The price is set by world markets, not by "us".When Libya's exports are crimped, the countries that rely on Libya have to look elsewhere. The price rises unless world supply increases. Where "we" import it from is irrelevant. Saudi Arabia can unleash over 2 MILLION extra barrels per DAY within weeks if they wanted to. In comparison, when deep offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico was temporarily suspended last year, there was only a loss of 200,000 barrels per day. Piddly shit. The markets didn't even notice. |
