Both are Catholic, however my mom is much more conservative than my dad (my mom goes to Church for spiritual well-being, my dad goes to church for socialization). My mom is also a registered Republican wheras my dad is a registered Democrat. My mom RARELY EVER discusses politics (and whenever I discuss anything politics related with her, she comes up with a more generic Republican, right leaning, response). My Dad is very open to a political discussion but he generally takes a far left Democratic response. I probably discuss politics with my parents more than they discuss it with one another, especially as they have differing viewpoints on it. |
