Because the upcoming holiday is Christmas and billions of people around the world observe it. Would it make a lot of sense for the picture to show Judah Macabee in battle gear and claim that he was a myth? Aside from the fact that no one would know who was pictured, only a tiny percentage of people observe Hanukkah and even a smaller one knows what role the Macabees played in it.

To say nothing of Kwanzaa.

I, for one, believe that the Nativity did occur in some form or another. I also believe that Jesus walked the earth and had a loyal following. I also think he said many great and wise things and was a good and noble man in a very bad time for the Jewish people. I just don't believe he was any more divine than Moses or King David. Sorry.
